The Ending Tuberculosis (ETB) Team supports Member States in accelerating progress towards ending tuberculosis, including drug-resistant TB, by strengthening national responses and advancing people-centred, evidence-based and integrated approaches across the Western Pacific Region, with an emphasis on reaching the unreached.
This is accomplished by:
- Strengthening equitable access to quality-assured rapid diagnostics, shorter and safer treatment regimens (including for drug-resistant TB), and tuberculosis preventive treatment, integrated within primary health care
- Providing technical guidance and policy support to develop, implement and monitor national TB strategies and operational plans, including strengthening quality of care and use of data for decision-making
- Convening regional and partner collaboration to align strategies and resources, scale integrated TB services, and accelerate the adoption of innovations in priority and high-burden settings
