The HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis and Sexually Transmitted Infections (HSI) Team supports Member States in strengthening comprehensive, people-centred and equitable responses to HIV, viral hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections across the Western Pacific Region, with an emphasis on reaching the unreached.
This is accomplished by:
- Strengthening integrated prevention, testing, treatment and care services for HIV, viral hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections, including triple elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B
- Advancing stigma- and discrimination-free, rights-based and integrated approaches within primary health care, while strengthening surveillance and laboratory systems to inform targeted action
- Supporting implementation of regional strategies and action plans, triple elimination frameworks and sustainable financing approaches to sustain results and deliver long-term impact
