WHO Collaborating Centres are institutions designated by the Director-General of WHO as part of an international collaborative network that supports the Organization’s programmes at country, regional, and headquarters levels.

In the Western Pacific, there are at least 195 active WHO Collaborating Centres. They provide wide-ranging expertise on issues such as traditional medicine, health systems development, and serve as global or regional reference laboratories for specific diseases.
