Creating an enabling environment that facilitates reliable electricity access in health-care facilities (WHO, World Bank, IRENA & SEforALL, 2023) includes several technical, capacity, policy and financing elements. Available interventions involve developing fair and transparent policy and planning frameworks; building solid data infrastructure; increasing dedicated financing and support; strengthening coordination between the energy and health sectors; and build local capacities. Key priority actions to accelerate health-care facility electrification include:

• Monitoring energy access in health facilities more systematically
• Dramatically increasing investments and support on electrifying health care facilities
• Providing the necessary resources to design and implement clean energy plans, tailored to the needs of the health sector
• Developing policy and finance schemes to unlock the potential of sustainable energy solutions, and to address the health sector needs
